Innovation is at the forefront of everything that happens
within Oak Floors Online, and one recent development may solve a problem for
many Architects and Project Designers when it comes to specifying or
recommending suitable oak flooring for installation over Under Floor Heating
systems.
Oak Floors Online have developed a unique product called
ThruFlow, which is a 22mm thick engineered product with a full 6mm wear layer
of oak that’s heat-bonded to a high quality Birch plywood underside.
This plywood underside has a precise pattern of holes
drilled accurately and sufficiently into it during manufacture to reduce the
thermal resistance of the finished product, whilst still maintaining the
structural strength and stability that’s required for these installation
situations.
Thermal resistance for the 22mm ThruFlow is significantly
better than a standard 20mm or 21mm engineered product, so allowing the UFH
system to work more efficiently whilst the floor performs robustly and
effectively within the most challenging of UFH situations.
The ThruFlow is currently only available as a Brushed &
Natural Oiled finish but other finishes are planned for the future, when Oak
Floors Online have gathered more information about market demand.
